Donald Trump's second term has been marked by a continuation of his "America First" policy, which has raised significant concerns both domestically and internationally. Upon taking office, he swiftly withdrew the United States from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Paris Agreement, two critical global frameworks. While Trump argues that these moves prioritize American interests, they appear to be more about isolating the U.S. from the international community rather than fostering genuine leadership or collaboration.

Exiting the WHO during a global health crisis undermines global efforts to combat pandemics, which ultimately affects Americans as well. Similarly, abandoning the Paris Agreement not only disregards the urgent need for climate action but also cedes leadership on environmental issues to other nations. These decisions reflect a shortsighted approach that prioritizes immediate political gains over long-term global stability and cooperation.

So-called "America First" may well translate to "America Alone."
